S is for Starchild Skull

The Letter SThe Starchild Skull is an abnormal human skull that is claimed to be the product of extraterrestrial-human breeding or genetic manipulation. According to paranormal researcher Lloyd Pye, the skull was found around 1930 in a mine tunnel in Mexico. A human female skull was found with it.

Pye believed that the skull was from a child with an extraterrestrial father and a human mother. Others believe it is the skull of an alien child.

The skull is abnormally formed with a large interior volume. The eye sockets are oval and shallow. The optic nerve canal is situated closer to the bottom of the socket than to the back. There are no frontal sinuses and the back of the skull is flattened.

DNA testing has been done on the skull and some of the DNA from the Starchild is from a human being and indicates the child was male. Some of the base pairs could not be identified and Pye believes this indicates the other parent was alien.

Testing of the human female skull found with the Starchild skull indicated that the woman was not the Starchild’s mother, but both the Starchild and the female were Native American.

A dentist examined the upper right maxilla found with the skull and determined that it was from a child aged 4.5 to 5 years.

Is this the skull of an alien or alien/human hybrid?

A neurologist says that the skull exhibits all the characteristics of a child who died as a result of congenital hydrocephalus, a condition where cerebrospinal fluid accumulates within the skull and deforms it.

So who was this child and who was the female with him, if not his mother?

My Idea:

I would write an alien/human love story. Through tragic circumstances, the alien father must leave the human mother. She is ostracized with her abnormal baby and struggles to survive on her own.

What do you think of the Starchild skull? Human or not-human?

I don’t know about the skull. I tend to think most of these things are less mysterious than they appear.

You’ve done a really great job with a unique A to Z! Have fun with the rest of the challenge.

Thanks, Jenny! I agree, the skull is probably from a very sick human child and not an alien. But it is fun to imagine alternate possibilities.
